Flagler Beach Woman Arrested for DUI at Inmate Facility
A Flagler Beach woman had too much to drink Friday afternoon and drove to the Flagler County Inmate Facility where she requested a conjugal visit with a specific inmate.
Denise Rutledge, 45, parked her vehicle in the parking lot of the inmate facility around 2:41 p.m. She went inside for visitation, but was turned away because she was late for the visitation appointment. The inmate facility does not allow conjugal visits.
Deputies reported the woman drove out of the parking lot and then returned. Corrections deputies called for a road patrol deputy after noticing the woman’s impaired behavior.
When deputies arrived, they found Rutledge sitting inside her vehicle. The report stated her speech was slurred and she had difficulty standing without assistance
After she failed a field sobriety test, deputies administered a breathalyzer which registered 0.256.
She was taken into custody in the parking lot and booked into the inmate facility on one count of driving under the influence. She was released after being held for a mandatory minimum of eight hours and after posting $500 bond.
