Florida cracker refers to original colonial-era English and American pioneer settlers of what is now the U.S. state of Florida, and their descendants.
The first Florida crackers arrived in 1763 when Spain traded Florida to Great Britain. (Not exactly true Long before Spain gave up Florida settlers from Georgia had started making settlements along the St johns river making there way south from Cowtown (Jacksonville).
When Naming this site, Rather than saying the First coast (boring and the domain taken by Jacksonville news) I named this area East of the St Johns river The CrackerCoast. this includes the entire 7th congressional district.
