Never looked for a lost monkey before. To bad I am working.

Main article: Feral Rhesus Macaque
Around the spring of 1938, a colony of Rhesus macaques were released in the Silver River State Park in Florida by a tour boat operator known locally as "Colonel Tooey" to enhance his "Jungle Cruise". A traditionial story that the monkeys were released for scenery enhancement in the Tarzan movies that were filmed at that location is false, as the only Tarzan movie filmed in the area, 1939's Tarzan Finds a Son! contains no Rhesus macaques. In addition, various colonies of Rhesus and other monkey species are speculated to be the result of zoos and wildlife parks destroyed in hurricanes, most notably Hurricane Andrew.
There is also a notable colony of Rhesus macaques on Morgan Island, one of the Sea Islands in the South Carolina Lowcountry. They were imported in the 1970s for use in local labs and are by all accounts thriving.
The Rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta), also called the Rhesus monkey, is one of the best-known species of Old World monkeys. It is listed as Least Concern in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in view of its wide distribution, presumed large population, and its tolerance of a broad range of habitats. Native to South, Central and Southeast Asia, troops of Macaca mulatta inhabit a great variety of habitats from grasslands to arid and forested areas, but also close to human settlements

St. Cloud residents report monkey on the loose in Osceola County
Residents of the Osceola County city for the past couple of weeks have been reporting seeing a large monkey behind Home Depot, near the Blackberry Creek subdivision, near the lakefront and on Wisconsin Avenue, also near East Lake Tohopekaliga, police said.
"We don't know whether we have a monkey or whether we have a chimp," said Lee Radebaugh, director of the county animal-control department. "Every time we respond [to calls reporting a citing], the monkey has left."
St. Cloud police said they don't know whether the animal is a missing pet — no monkeys have been reported to be on the lam, they said — an escapee from a circus or something else.
St. Cloud has a lot of trees, so the monkey may nap at night in one of them and forage during the day, Radebaugh said.
"Until I lay my eyes on him, I don't know what we've got," he said.
Monkey see? Do not approach, try to feed or touch the beast, authorities advise. They bite.

Seahorse and Mon....did you not see those Friends episodes when Ross had a monkey for a pet? lol
shit....... franks out on the loose again without his shirt or meds!!!!
I'm only responsible for what I say,not how you understand it..
I was actually given a small monkey years ago when the boys were small from a man I worked with, this guy sat in his cage and played with himself all the time... needless to say now matter how cool having a monkey was, he lasted about 2 weeks at my house, had to give him back....

I've heard having a monkey as a pet was "difficult" to say the least.
There was a man in St. Augustine who had one that went everywhere with him. He usually kept him dressed up with overalls and stuff, very much like a tin cup monkey if your old enough to know what that is. That monkey used to escape and stay gone a day or two then when the guy came back, the monkey would come to him and he'd be fine for 3-6 months and off again.
I'll have to ask around I think the guy who owned him was a Roy Blanchard, quite a character his self!

FWC has been Tracking this Monkey all the way from Ocala for at least six weeks, It is still on the loose after Dark.
The intent is to eliminate this Monkey but the density of homes in the area is causing difficulty in shooting it for some reason.
It is not the only one that has been seen in Flagler the same source reveals.
