I have an organge tree and almost all of the oranges are just white pulp inside no juice. Others are half juicy and the other side white pulp. Does anybody have any idea of what I am doing wrong. The tree is about 6 years old.
Thanks for your input!

O.K., it sound like the tree may not be getting the water it needs. (?)
Root will know more about this.

Do you know what variety you have ? can you post a picture of what you describe so I can distinguish it as not a disease ?
At this time of the year that doesn't sound to abnormal for some varieties. harvest time was in November and December and if its dry the tree will recoup water from the fruit. the sugar is at its peak in November and December depending on the variety and some will hold on the tree till much later but truth is they are getting ready to bloom now and need fertilizer and plenty of water if the fruit is still on the tree it will start falling off pretty soon.

Very Glad, I will get the name of the tree!

My citrus can turn out the same way. I have Tangelo, King Mandarin, Calamondin, and Navel citrus trees. Along with Nectarines.
Water...water...water!
I set up a sprinkler just for my citrus & fruit trees.

I hope you remember the name of my dad's orange tree, Root. If not...I'll go back to FB and look. It's dying but the trunk is still alive. He moved it from the ground to a pot.
You said something about micro nutrients? What is that? And he wants to know if he should trim the dead stuff down on the top.
thx

Leave the dead stuff alone until it recovers , I didn't realize it was so small that it could be put in a pot. I was referring to an older tree that had recovered after thinking it was about to die 10 years ago.
A weak solution of miracle grow but don't over do it, keep it watered but don't water log it a pot does not get the same kind of air flow and oxygen to the roots so in a pot is not the best situation he would have been better off to leave it be and nurse it till it regained health before transplanting. but at this point the only hope id to keep it in as stable of environment as possible, put it in the shade and baby it.
But really if its not a big tree he would be better off to just go get another one now and if this one recovers he will have two at least one will be maturing. a 15 gallon should run about 65 dollars for a good rootstock that is cold hardy. don't get it from home depot Dragon citrus in Jacksonville is the best place for reliable stock.

Thank you and Home Depot is where he got it. Anywhere reliable that is a little closer?

Call Dragon citrus in Jacksonville, thy may know where to go down there. but you may pay more for the same tree .

I didn't realize it, but he already got another one and scrapped the dead one today. Not sure where he got the one he has now. Thanks anyway!
My grandfather grafted and grew citrus trees. He would never let us pick the fruit, we always had to cut it off and always got rid of the "suckers" that tired to grow. At the end of each growing season he would remove the fruit we had not been able to reach at the top of the tree before the next season started. A few of his trees he had to use an extension ladder to reach the top.
His reasoning for cutting the fruit was less damage to the tree and the pruning it does at the same time. Some years his trees were so full the bottom limbs had to be propped because they were so heavy with fruit.

I always use clippers to cut the fruit off

If he ever gets any fruit, I will tell him that!

maybe not this year but give them a little TLC when young and they will be tough old birds when they mature.

I hope so. I love oranges right from the tree.....
