A gathering at a home in Deltona turned deadly early Saturday morning after a large fight broke out, resulting in a 21-year-old man sustaining a knife wound to the torso. The victim was taken by ambulance to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City, where he was pronounced dead at 5:03 a.m. Two others were injured in the fracas. The incident is under investigation by the Sheriff s Office. Deputies were dispatched to 2971 Foxboro Circle after the Sheriff s Office received a call at 4 a.m. about a fight going on. According to witnesses, a fight broke out inside the house and then spilled out onto the driveway. Based on preliminary information, investigators believe as many as a dozen or more people were involved. Responding deputies began arriving at the scene four minutes after the 911 call was received. When they got there, they found the victim lying on his back in the driveway, bleeding from the stab wound. The victim initially was breathing, but then he stopped breathing as paramedics were working on him at the scene. His name isn t being released until family members are notified of the death. Two other victims were injured -- one sustained a broken leg and the other a shoulder injury. The Sheriff s Office is working to sort out the circumstances and determine what sparked the fight. The Major Case Unit has assumed the investigation. As of early Saturday morning, there had been no arrests.
