Tupperware is great stuff, as the mrs. sold this stuff when it was round and not suited well for storage, the square stuff is much better.

I was over at my son's house the other night where we were having homemade cowboy soup for dinner, and while the rest of us were eating out of regular ironstone soup bowls, my son pulled out an old orange tupperware bowl that he loved to eat cereal out of when he was a little kid, about 40 years ago, that I gave him to take with him when he grew up and left to make his own "adult" home. He loved/loves that bowl and still pulls it out whenever he needs a bowl for something to eat...one side of the top of it has been melted where it got too hot when coming into contact with a burner; but other than that it still functions. This bowl is the only survivor of set of stacking bowls of different sizes and colors that I bought probably 45 years ago.

I microwave with mine almost daily for my diet and I am impressed that I have not warped or disfigured a tupperware bowl yet!

Back in the 80's I purchased a few microwave cooking sets and last year I finally had to lay to rest the last one. It was my favorite too. It was goldenrod yellow oval bowl with strainer, a removable separator, and lid. It was the best thing to heat up or steam vegetables in.

I as well have a few pieces from my childhood. They are still great. One piece cracked and tupperware would have given me $5 credit to purchase a new one but they don't make the same one any more :-( But I am with slick the new stuff sure stacks a whole lot better!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is sad losing our favorite bowl we ate out of, microwaved with, took on camping trips, taken to the local park, etc. Our bowl/s that have become part of our social lives will be sorely missed!!!!....... I have to stop, I'm sorry for getting all teary eyed, but it does hit close to home!

My son's bowl even did a one-year tour in S. Korea with him in the 1990-1991 where he ate many a package of Ramen noodles from it--probably one of the worse food products known to mankind.

Thank you for the information on your tupperware sights. I will mark them for future reference.
I am still using the orange and green ones from the 70's that were my mom's when I was a teen! I could use an upgrade... but heck these still work!!

I know what you mean but sometimes we have to retire them. Today I had people tell me they have Tupperware that is 40 years old.
And remember Tupperware stands behind their products so if any of them have issues lets take care of them.

Also I have a facebook page that let's you know what is happening its Tupperware Nancyp

OH and let's not forget some of the new ideas Tupperware has came out with. My omelet maker doesn't spend much time in the cabinet someone is always using it.

Maybe you could convert a pet food container for a rice container since Tupperware doesn't sell such a container here in the US...they are air-proof to keep the food fresh.

To: Nancy, I am not trying to high-jack your thread, honest, just trying to be helpful.
